Flo & Friends Charity Organization, founded in 2021, is dedicated to enhancing the quality of education in Western Uganda by constructing schools,libraries, learning centers,and supplying educational materials to support vulnerable children. Guided by the vision of ensuring "A quality education for every child to reach their full potential and overcome poverty for personal development and society’s wellbeing," and the mission "To provide equitable access to education and learning opportunities for all children to reach their full potential," the organization operates several impactful programs. Flo & Friends believes that education is essential for socio-economic transformation. The charity is focused on increasing access to quality education for underprivileged children, marginalized groups, and families in lower-income regions,while also improving socio-economic conditions for youth and single teenage mothers. The primary programs include: Education and Nutrition:This program aims to improve literacy and combat malnutrition. Initiatives include establishing libraries,supporting reading and writing projects, and implementing school feeding programs. The organization provides meals, inputs for school gardens, and capacity-building training for teachers, leaders, and students. Economic Development: Flo & Friends empowers vulnerable teenage single mothers and refugees to fight poverty and integrate into the community. They offer training in agriculture, livestock, handcrafts, and entrepreneurship to help beneficiaries develop sustainable livelihoods. Community and Youth Empowerment: This program focuses on empowering single teenage mothers and youth through behavior change initiatives, health and reproductive education,and sensitization on social, economic,and political rights. The organization promotes a culture of volunteerism and civic engagement among the youth. Child Protection and Health: Ensuring the safety and well-being of children is paramount.The organization conducts various interventions to protect children from harm and promote their health and development.
